February 21th 2011 The brand new journal by Gaspard Oil just opened up. The band, that is. This time, Jemo & Ville open a new series, yakking about life, the universe & everything. Click here to read about camels, anagrams & Tunguska. January 25th 2011 Bad news & good news, people. Bad news first, as always. Sadly it is that we announce the departure of our founding member and dear friend, our long time bassist Andy Makkonen from the ranks of Gaspard Oil. Though foreign agencies claim a possession by Pazuzu emerging from forbidden occult rituals involving a ouija board during the man's stay in the Netherlands, we must shed the truth where lies might linger; no foul play was or is involved. Roads begin, roads end. Fare well. However, new parts have already been fixed to the plane of Gaspard Oil; a rather fine gentleman called Matti Kortet has now joined the band to play bass and to sing like an angel. Also known for playing in the Jyväskylä-based band Laivue, Matti is well acquainted with Gaspard Oil's music, having stood in for Andy during his Western European roamings. We also have a new manager, Eevi Närhi, who incidentally features as a guest vocalist on a couple of songs on "Women". She is the one you want to be in touch with, should you want to book us or make us other offers we can't refuse. And finally, start preparing for the glorious return of our organist Tuomo from the Czech Republic! Tuomo will be landing in Rentukka, Jyväskylä, a well-known venue for Gaspard Oil, to join our ranks in one of the most highly anticipated shows in the history of the band: Gaspard Oil will perform as a warm-up for none other than Tuomari Nurmio! Come and witness the ultimate rock'n'roll spectacle - new songs guaranteed! October 14th 2010 You may have begun to wonder why you haven't seen a decent live music performance during the last month. There is a perfectly reasonable explanation for this. Gaspard Oil's very own organist / graphic designer Tuomo "Santtu" Savolainen has gone missing. Thus bereft of half of its facial hair, Gaspard Oil won't be touring until early next year. Please stay tuned. Rumour has it that Tuomo may have converted to Judaism and emigrated to somewhere in Eastern Europe in order to become a klezmer musician, but this has not been confirmed by any major news agency. October 14th 2010 Incidentally, Gaspard Oil the band have got nothing whatsoever to do with the recent lottery hoax. October 14th 2010 Interstellar planet-eating mutant crab-fungi suspected. www.allvoices.com September 22th 2010 Gaspard Oil has joined hands with our webmaster Toni Vesala to shoot a psychedelic music video for one of the grooviest songs on "Women". Titled "Alice", the video will feature whacky animated flower forests and faceless men falling side by side with the band. How about that. We just finished shooting last weekend and Toni shall now immerse himself in the animated parts. Stay tuned. September 6th 2010 The fabulous recording may be yours for merely 15 euros. There is also a new edition of our first album available for 10 euros. If you order them both, you only have to pay the ridiculously low sum of 20 euros!
